Complaints and Appeals Policy

Introduction

Medical Channel Journal (MCJ) is committed to ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability throughout its editorial and publication processes. The journal welcomes complaints and appeals from authors, reviewers, readers, and other stakeholders regarding editorial decisions, publication ethics, peer review, or journal policies. All complaints and appeals are handled objectively, confidentially, and without discrimination, following the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Complaints

Complaints may relate to:

  • Editorial or peer-review procedures.

  • Delays in manuscript processing.

  • Publication ethics or research misconduct.

  • Authorship disputes.

  • Conflicts of interest.

  • Alleged bias or inappropriate editorial conduct.

  • Errors in published articles or journal content.

All complaints should be submitted in writing to the Editorial Office with sufficient details and supporting evidence to facilitate an appropriate investigation.

Appeals

Authors who disagree with an editorial decision may submit a formal appeal. The appeal should clearly explain the reasons for reconsideration and provide any additional information or evidence supporting the request. Appeals are evaluated independently by the Editor-in-Chief or an appropriate senior editor who was not directly involved in the original decision. The outcome of the appeal is considered final.

Investigation Process

Upon receiving a complaint or appeal, the journal will:

  • Acknowledge receipt within a reasonable timeframe.

  • Conduct a fair, impartial, and confidential assessment.

  • Request additional information when necessary.

  • Consult editors, reviewers, or relevant experts if required.

  • Resolve the matter in accordance with the journal's policies and COPE guidance.

Policy Commitment

Medical Channel Journal is committed to resolving complaints and appeals promptly, fairly, and transparently. The journal continuously strives to improve its editorial practices while maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, scientific integrity, and professional responsibility.
