Medical Channel Journal (MCJ) recognizes authorship as an important indicator of academic responsibility and intellectual contribution. The journal follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) to ensure that authorship is assigned fairly, transparently, and ethically. All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial scholarly contributions to the work and must accept responsibility for its content.
To qualify as an author, each contributor should meet all of the following criteria:
Make a substantial contribution to the conception, design, data collection, analysis, or interpretation of the research.
Participate in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
Approve the final version of the manuscript before submission and publication.
Agree to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of all aspects of the published work.
Individuals who do not meet these criteria should not be listed as authors but may be acknowledged appropriately.
MCJ encourages authors to clearly describe the specific contribution of each author at the time of submission. Contributions may include study design, methodology, data collection, statistical analysis, manuscript preparation, supervision, funding acquisition, or project administration. This promotes transparency and accountability in scholarly publishing.
The corresponding author is responsible for:
Ensuring that all authors meet the authorship criteria.
Obtaining approval from all co-authors before submission.
Managing communication with the Editorial Office during the review and publication process.
Ensuring the accuracy of author information and conflict of interest disclosures.
Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission or publication must be submitted in writing with the consent of all authors and a clear justification. The Editorial Office will evaluate such requests in accordance with COPE recommendations and may require additional documentation before approving any changes.
MCJ does not permit:
Gift or honorary authorship.
Ghost authorship.
Guest authorship.
Misrepresentation of individual contributions.
Unauthorized inclusion or removal of authors.
Confirmed violations may result in manuscript rejection, publication correction, retraction, or notification of the relevant institutions.
By submitting a manuscript to Medical Channel Journal, all authors confirm that they satisfy the journal's authorship requirements, have disclosed their individual contributions honestly, and agree to uphold the ethical standards established by COPE and ICMJE.
